Gary Frank began his professional
career in 1991, illustrating covers and interior short stories for publications
like Toxic! and Doctor Who Magazine. In 1996, Frank moved to DC Comics,
where he worked on various loose assignments and found the calling of Superman.
Gary Frank, Superman: World of New Krypton #1, Pencil and
Ink, 8.5”X11”, 2009
The visuals are supplied by former Hulk artist Gary Frank, and it's his best work yet. Frank was born to draw Superman. His art has a clean, clear quality to it, despite fine details. He also does what few artists can, which is to give every character his or her own unique face .
Gary Frank debut this piece of art during the release of Superman: World of New Krypton #1. Superman is a very well known figure in the comic book world and this piece of art shows off why Superman is so super. This piece shows off one of America’s favorite renown heroes basking in his own power which is fueled by the sun. I chose him because if I did not choose to showcase Superman then people would think I was crazy for not including him in an exhibit for super heroes.
